Committees
The SIA has many operative committees, with almost 200 of these working in the area of standards alone. As the body in overall charge of that domain, Central Commission on Standards and Regulations (ZNO) has five subordinate sectoral committees which direct individual standards committees and working groups:
- the Structural Design Standards Committee (KTN);
- the Structural Engineering Standards Committee (KH);
- the Building Technology and Energy Standards Committee (KGE);
- the Infrastructure and Environmental Standards Committee (KIU);
- the Central Regulation Committee (ZOK).
The Central Regulation Committee (ZOK) has the Special Committee for Fees (SKH) and the Committee for SIA 142/143: Competitions and Study Commissions subordinate to it.
Other committees of note are the professional groups' Professional Committees, the Swiss Professional Committee (SK) which is independent of those committees and acts as an appeals body, the Training Committee, the Special Committee for Intellectual Property Law (SKI), the Energy Committee (EK) and the Audit Committee (RPK).
The Women and the SIA Committee acts as the SIA's think-tank on gender issues.
