In Latin America, the implementation of sustainable technologies is a central theme of climate change policy. Environmental regulations are being strengthened, renewable energies and efficient energy storage are increasingly becoming a focal point, and mine operators want to reduce their ecological footprint. Quality-conscious Chile offers Swiss SMEs exciting business opportunities with large order volumes.

The lunch event on Friday, 5 February 2019 will provide you with a varied insight into the topic of green mining accompanied by a sumptuous lunch. Exciting speakers, including Juan Pablo Schaeffer, Chile representative at the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva, will provide answers to burning questions:

  • What should you bear in mind when planning your internationalization?
  • What regulations exist in Chile in the cleantech sector?
  • What efforts are currently being made in the field of green mining?
  • How can mine operators reduce costs in a resource-efficient way?
  • What does the greening of the mining business mean for the future?

Waste, water, energy, mobility, safety and sustainable construction: an interesting panel and in-depth workshops will get to grips with all these topics, and Swiss SMEs who are already successfully active in Chile will provide you with exciting first-hand export experiences.
